Do you know the phrase: I am, I will be. ?
We can do many things with the power of our thoughts. Yes, you can also get further in a way that you wouldn't even have thought possible before at school.
It can be the case that a student, whom the teachers used to say he wouldn't even graduate from secondary school, now manages a large company - with several employees.
On the other hand, there are people who are described by their teachers as super hard-working and typical A candidates with very good prospects for the future - including having dropped out of their studies and now receiving Harz 4 (or later receiving citizen's benefit).
How do the two examples differ?
One person thought - since the teachers said he was no good - I would prove to myself that I can do anything I want and when I should be able to do it. Because not every school is suitable for every child.
The other person may have had it easier at school, just not later in their professional life. Here he decided for himself that he didn't want to move forward for the time being.
Both have the same thing Potential, namely to help yourself. It's always just the question of whether you want it yourself or not - and this has nothing to do with financial resources (at least not in Germany), but only with internal motivation (intrinsic motivation).
Anyone who says to themselves: 'I can't do it because other people say that' will actually not get anywhere unless they take the next step - out of their comfort zone.
However, anyone who says: 'I can do it - no matter what other people say' and I'm happy to take the next step - will certainly take the next step - out of their comfort zone.
With the following steps, you can achieve more than just a self-determined life to lead, but also successfully transform your own thoughts - to be happier:
Steps for a self-determined life:
- Stop comparing yourself to others. It is your path that you take (see also 'Train of Life')
- Make a list for yourself of what you have achieved so far.
- Accept yourself as you are. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses - write down what your strengths and weaknesses are. Ask your friends or family what you might be able to work on - don't see it as criticism but as an opportunity to further your education or change your own behavior (if that caused problems before).
- Since your self-image does not always correspond to the image of others: Ask who would actually support you or perhaps there are already people who have already offered you help but you have rejected it. It's good to have people around you who believe in you - so your extrinsic motivation increases when you accept the support.

- Next, you look at the goal, and what you actually want to achieve, from different sides. Changing your perspective means that you visualize a little more and notice different things. Have you ever looked at a tree from all sides? Have you perhaps noticed that it is lighter on one side and darker on the other side (possibly with moss on the weather side)? How was the sun in the sky? Just dare to take on other perspectives - whether it's at work or in your private life. It will definitely make you realize that by changing your perspective, things can suddenly look completely different than expected.
- It's better to take small steps (shorter stages) than to run ahead and then slam on the brakes in front of an obstacle - just because you realize that you could have turned before to avoid the obstacle. It is the pace you set for yourself - for yourself.
- Live your own path that you have decided for yourself - and therefore your own goals. Don't worry, there will be enough people to accompany you if you want to.
- On the way to your goal, you will realize that you have changed, but it is completely okay. After all, it is your path.
Conclusion:
There are many ways to get the best out of yourself and be successful. However, one thing is certain: it always starts with the first step!
